There were beauty queens everywhere, as this year’s Miss Freestone County Scholarship Pageant took to the stage on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Seven young ladies competed for Miss Pre-Teen, six for Miss Teen, and five for Miss Freestone County.

This year’s line-up included the following contestants:

–Pre-Teen:

Kayden Holcomb,

Brook-Lyn Ansley,

Harleigh DeBorde,

Gabby Duke,

Cori Grant,

Ally Farmer, and

Phoebe Portillo-Hanzelka.

–Teen:

Gracie Brown,

Samahgia Carter,

Amethyst Tracz,

Kinslee Holcomb,

Nevaeh Coaster, and

Cadence Webster.

–Miss:

Nicole Hawkins,

Gabi Trevino,

Bre Kennedy,

Kiera Walker, and

RaShay Covey.

The girls sported casual wear, answered interview questions, modeled their version of 70’s theme outfits, and then graced the stage in beautiful formal wear. Turn to pages 4 & 5-B for pictures of all the contestants in their beautiful gowns.

Following a Farewell to the 2022 Miss Freestone County – Kenady Morris and 2022 Miss Freestone County – Makensy Isaacs, scholarship awards were announced.

First, awards were given to the contestants who brought in the most sponsorships for the pageant.

Sponsorship Awards were presented to the following:

–Children’s Pageant Sponsorship – Laney Lehman

–Miss Pre-Teen Sponsorship – Brook-Lyn Ansley

–Miss Teen Sponsorship – Kinslee Holcomb

–Miss Freestone Sponsorship – RaShay Covey

Then, Miss Congeniality was announced:

–Miss Teen Congeniality – Gracie Brown

–Miss Freestone Congeniality – Kiera Walker

The position of Runner Up is important, as they will step up if Miss Teen or Miss Freestone County is unable to serve for any reason. This year’s Runners Up are as follows:

–Pre-Teen Runner Up – Harleigh DeBorde

–Teen Runner Up – Nevaeh Coaster

–Miss Freestone Runner Up – Bre Kennedy

Crowned to serve Freestone County as this year’s queens were

Miss Pre-Teen Freestone County – Cori Grant,

Miss Teen Freestone County – Cadence Webster, and

Miss Freestone County – Rashay Covey.

Also introduced that evening were winners of the Children’s Pageant, held prior on Saturday, June 10, 2023. They include:

–Infant Miss – Memphis Randall

–Baby Miss – Alyvia Gillian

–Toddler Miss – Myla Wolf

–Tiny Miss – Emory Collins

–Mini Miss (and Sponsorship award) – Laney Lehman

–Petite Miss – Meia Gilley

–Little Miss – Emma Joy Baxter

–Young Miss – Harper Easter

–Junior Miss – Haylee West

Emcee for the evening was the lovely Miss Texas 2023 – Averie Bishop.

Entertainment breaks were performed by Emma Jo Smith, 2022 Miss Freestone County – Makensy Isaacs (below), 2022 Miss Teen Freestone County – Kenady Morris (below), Miss Teen Buffalo Stampede – Makenna Eppes, Miss Teen Leon County – Kayden Dallas, and Miss Tri-County Teen – Marissa Eppes.

Several of these Freestone County ladies will be competing for the Miss Texas and Miss Teen Texas crown on June 27-July 1 at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas.
