Freestone County will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Courthouse on April 26, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Courthouse lawn.
A Time Capsule will be buried, to be opened in 50 years; and a live Oak Tree will be planted as well.
Tours of the Courthouse and County Museum will be offered during this event.
Vendors on site will be the Railroad Museum, Freestone County History Club, and live music.
Sheriff Jeremy Shipley will be grill hotdogs, and cake and cookies will be up for grabs as well.
All past and present elected officials are asked to attend. They will be recognized and a group photo will be taken to add to the Time Capsule.
All County citizens are invited to attend.
