A POD training session was held once again in Freestone County at the Green Barn in Fairfield, Texas this past Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
Point of Dispensing (POD) is an effective way to handle a variety of emergency scenarios that requires getting help to many people as quickly and smoothly as possible.
The exercise allows members of the community such as law enforcement, educational leadership, nurses, and more to practice working together in case the worst ever happens, and a POD is necessary.
The Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas Health and Human Services work to prepare all areas of the state to not only help prepare people for these scenarios, but also to have people connecting to know one another.
A POD receives necessary medicine and everything else needed, and in turn, volunteers dispense the needed item(s) to the citizens.
If there is ever a POD activated in this area, follow directions closely to do whatever is needed for yourself and your family.
