The day after last week’s edition had gone to press, The “Times” was notified that the Petition for Depositions Before Suit, filed by former Freestone County Employee, Dianne Manning against County Clerk Linda Jarvis, was removed from the District Court and not presented on May 9th.
According to Manning’s Attorney, Chad Morgan, the case will be moved to Federal Court in the Waco District following the receipt of a Right to Sue letter from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
“Typically it takes several months to get a response from the EEOC as to whether they want to be involved in a case or not,” says Mr. Morgan. “We actually received the Right to Sue letter after only a couple of weeks, so we have chosen to move the case to Federal Court.”
Morgan also states that the case has yet to be officially filed, but he expects it to be done in the near future.
Both Manning and Jarvis have been advised not to comment on this case.
