Attending in full force, members of Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department voiced their concerns as City Council was scheduled to meet in closed executive session the the fire department’s “Use of City Property in the County,” as discussion that was requested by Councilman Randy Johnson.
“Don’t limit our resources,” said the firefighters, stressing the importance of adequate equipment for safety.
As council deliberated behind closed doors, Fairfield VFD handed out water bottles to the standing-room only crowd.
Ultimately, when council returned to open session, no action was taken on this matter.
