Family and friends of Albert Gallegos, Sr. gathered together on Saturday, September 1, 2018 to show their love and support during his battle with cancer.

The event was held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church of Fairfield and included a horseshoe tournament, BBQ dinner, silent auction, live brisket auction, music, and games for kids.

Winners of the horseshoe tournaments were: 1st Tournament – Jody Minze & Clay Faughan and 2nd Tournament – Cody Combs & Jesse Fuentes.

Albert’s daughter-in-law, Stacy (Long) Gallegos, and her family presented him with a signed football of his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys!

Family members worked tirelessly to cut up and serve the delicious BBQ, which was cooked by Marcus Turner of Long Industries.

Serving as music DJ was Albert’s co-worker, Bubba Taylor.

This event raised upwards of $10,000 toward Albert’s medical expenses.

The previous enchilada dinner raised $4,000, and T-Shirt & bracelet sales have totaled between $2,000-$3,000.

“The fundraiser was a blessing for my Uncle,” says Monica (Whitaker) Franklin. “The money will go a long ways towards his medical treatments.”

Albert and his family would like to thank the community for their love, prayers, and support.
