Christmas Events Continue in Freestone County


The 2016 Teague Christmas Parade will travel down Main Street on Thursday, December 8th.

Pictures with Santa Claus starts at 4 p.m. and run through 5:30 p.m.

Parade line up for entries is 5:30 p.m. at Teague Elementary School.  Parade begins at 6:00 p.m., traveling down Main Street and ending on 3rd Avenue.

There will be a tree lighting at 3rd and Main, following the parade.  The Teague Lion Band will play a few Christmas favorites.

Then, citizens are encouraged to see the beautiful Light Display at the Teague City Park, thanks to the donation of Christmas lights by Sherry and Mike Gregory.

This weekend will see Fairfield Lake State Park host its annual Christmas in the Park even on Saturday, December 10th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.  Entrance to the park is free during this event.

Park visitors may enjoy a Tour of Lights, Campfire, refreshments and visits with Santa.

Then, from December 16-18th, the Ice Skating Rink will be on the courthouse square in Fairfield. Friday hours are from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, the rink will be open from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A special Jingle All the Way event will be held Saturday, December 17th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in downtown Fairfield.  In addition to ice skating, there will be visits with Santa, Hat Makers, Winter Wonderland Surprise, Face Painting, Kiddie Rides and a Wreath Giveaway; and on Sunday, December 18th, the LIVE Nativity Scene and petting zoo will be back from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

All the Fairfield events are FREE of charge, and sponsored by the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
