–Medical Terminology

–Principles of Human Services

–Dual Credit Cosmetology (offered in partnership with Navarro College)

The district will begin renovating parts of the FISD campus at the corner of Hwy 84 and Post Oak Road, in order to accommodate and house the cosmetology program.

During the Monday, January 9, 2023 meeting, members of the FISD school board were recognized for their contribution to the Fairfield Independent School District.

Several departments and campuses provide items to the board, and the Fairfield Intermediate Gifted & Talented class, along with Donna Jones, provided a presentation for School Board Recognition month.

Also during the meeting, the board approved a donation of funds from the Fairfield ISD Education Foundation.

The Foundation provides grants across the district to teachers each year, handing out big checks totaling $19,993 during presentations conducted last month.

A new donation was also approved by the board, this one from the Charles Machemehl Jr. Estate.

Mr. Machemehl donated funds from his estate across the south to schools and universities. His donation to Fairfield HS was for $33,653 and is designated for the Bennie Machemehl Endowed Scholarship Fund.

Current enrollment at Fairfield ISD is at 1,672 students.

Kevin Benedict and John Fryer’s board positions are up for election this coming May.

Candidates can begin filing on Wednesday, January 18th.

Teachers of the Year for each campus will be recognized at the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet to be held on Thursday, January 26th at Twisted Vines Event Center in Fairfield.

After Closed Session, the board approved Holly Rhames to fill the vacant 1st grade position at Fairfield Elementary School.
