The 8th Annual Buffalo Pro Rodeo has officially wrapped, and by every measure, this year’s event set a new benchmark for success in Leon County.
Traditionally held in September, the beloved rodeo made its debut in a new March timeslot this year — and the move proved to be a game changer. With ideal weather and a surge of community excitement, attendance skyrocketed, with gate numbers reaching three times those of the September 2025 event.
Organizers say the energy throughout the weekend was unmatched.
“We knew the move to spring had potential, but the turnout exceeded all expectations,” organizers shared. “From the first event to the final ride, the stands were full and the crowd stayed electric.”
The growth wasn’t just in the stands. Contestant participation saw a significant jump, with an additional 234 competitors entering this year’s rodeo. The arena welcomed a strong lineup of elite talent, including multiple world champions and reigning world champions raising the level of competition and excitement for fans.
Held at the Leon County venue, the rodeo showcased top-tier performances across all events — from bull riding and barrel racing to roping and bronc riding — cementing its reputation as one of the premier professional rodeos in the region.
Adding to the festivities, this year also marked the first-ever carnival at the Buffalo Pro Rodeo. Families and attendees of all ages enjoyed rides, games, and food, transforming the rodeo grounds into a full-scale entertainment experience that extended beyond the arena.
With record-breaking attendance, increased contestant participation, and expanded attractions, the 8th Annual Buffalo Pro Rodeo has set a new standard — and a promising future — for the event in its new spring home.
As dust settles in the arena and plans begin for next year, one thing is certain: the Buffalo Pro Rodeo isn’t just growing — it’s becoming a must-attend tradition in Leon County.
