If you’ve ever visited one of the Community Care Club’s fundraiser garage sales, you know that every inch of available space–after the trucks and equipment are removed from the Southern Oaks Fire Station–is filled with bargains. There are gently used furniture pieces, kitchen items, indoor and outdoor décor, wall art, lawn equipment, all kinds of tools, fishing and boating equipment and sports items and much more. There’s stuff for mom and dad, the kids, grandma and grandpa, and even items for your pets!

It all goes on sale for one gigantic SuperSale held on Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fire Station, which is located behind the Shell station just off FM 416.

CCC is a charitable organization located on the south side of Richland Chambers Lake, that has, for the past several years, presented this wild and crazy event known as the CCC’s SuperSale.

This year customers will notice just a few changes in the event, but most things will stay the same. To make things easier for customers, there will be two cashier stations—on in the fire barn area and one in the meeting room/kitchen area, making check-out a lot quicker. Also new this year is a much larger HOLD area where you can store your items as you shop. There will again be a “Free Stuff Booth,” which will offer certain miscellaneous items that are usable but not sellable. In addition to the hot dog stand (with donuts in the morning and drinks and hot dogs all day) on both Drop-Off Day (Friday, April 28) and Sale Day (Saturday, April 29). For the first time, the Good Eats food trailer will be on site on Saturday, Sale Day, for breakfast and lunch.

There’s plenty of parking around the Fire Station: in the open field just south of the station, across the street at the Southern Oaks Clubhouse and at the lot on the grounds of the now-closed Shell station. And yes, there will be helpers who will assist with the big items you can’t carry yourself. Just ask one of the CCC members who will be sporting the Club’s blue shirts.

Save the date—Saturday, April 29th, from 8 am to 2 pm at the SOVFD Fire Station and plan to shop until your heart is content! Why not make a day of it and bring along some friends? Plan your day around lunch at one of three spots along FM 416: You’ll find burgers Mexican food and the like at Natalie’s, lakeside dining at The Lighthouse at Fisherman’s Point, and home cooking-style meals at the Good Eats food truck next to the New Life Therapy shop. Good Eats has inside dining in the large room just off the porch of the New Life building.

The Southern Oaks Fire Station, where the Sale will be held, is located about four miles west of the 488/416 intersection or twelve miles east of Streetman on FM 416, just inside the Southern Oaks Subdivision.

All proceeds of this super-sized garage sale go to the various charitable activities of the Community Care Club, a nonprofit that helps the local FM 416 community through a variety of projects.
