Leading their classmates on Lions Field this Friday for graduation ceremonies will be Teague High School’s Valedictorian Madison Bragg and Salutatorian Victoria “Tori” Skinner.

An avid golfer, Madison Elizabeth Bragg earned her spot at the top of the class with a 4.864 GPA.

She is the daughter of John and Jennifer Bragg.

Madison enrolled in all Advanced Placement and Honors classes throughout her entire high school experience.

She was inducted into the National Honors Society in 2019 and served as President in 2020-2021.

Madison was also inducted into HHS in 2019 and was a member from 2019-2021. She served on the HHS community service committee.

Agriculture was one of Madison’s biggest interests, as she enrolled in eight agricultural science classes from 8th grade to her senior year in high school.

She was active in Teague FFA, serving as Treasurer for the Chapter from 2020-2021.

Madison earned a Greenhand Degree in 2017, a Chapter Degree in 2018, and a Lonestar Degree in 2020.

She competed with the Greenhand Chapter Conducting Team, the Sr. Chapter Conducting Team, the Ag Advocacy Team, the Vet tech team, and the East Texas Plant ID team.

Madison was also a Freestone County Fair showman: 2016-2019 pig showman, 2020-2021 steer showman.

In athletics, Madison served as Volleyball manager from 2017-2018, was a JV Basketball player from 2017-2019, and a Golf player from 2017-2021.

Outside of class, Madison worked in her downtown community serving as florist and cashier at Every Bloomin’ Thing and as a cashier at Pharmacy Plus of Teague. She is currently a sewer form Kat-Luca Gunbelts, helping to prepare products for gun shows.

In addition, she was Class President of her Junior class, and served as Co-Chair of student activities and banquet committee.

Her favorite bible verse is 1 Peter 5:7, which reads “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

Madison plans to attend Texas A&M and pursue a degree in nursing.

Close on her heels is Victoria Ann Skinner, who earned Teague High School’s second ranking with a 4.857 GPA.

Tori is the daughter of Kristin and Clint Skinner.

Athletics was a large part of her high school experience. Tori competed in Varsity Volleyball, Softball, Track and the Cheer squad.

She earned the Female Athlete of the Year for 2020 and 2021.

Not surprising, as Tori earned District Offensive MVP in both Softball and Volleyball, Team MVP in both Volleyball and Softball, four-time

Academic All-District Volleyball, three-time Academic All-District Softball, and received district recognition for all four years of high school.

Tori also enjoyed coaching young girls in the community for softball, as well as tutoring for math.

Other high school activities include the National Honor Society, FFA Livestock judging, and UIL Extemporaneous Speaking & Public Relations.

“It feels amazing to know that all of the work I put in for this paid off,” said Tori.

She names Ashley Montalvo as here greatest role model and mentor. “I could never thank her enough for everything she’s done for me,” said Tori.

Of her alma mater, Tori says she appreciates the openness that Teague High School has, and how “it allows everyone – no matter what hobbies or interests – to flourish in their own individual way.”

Tori’s advice to underclassmen is to “find who you truly are, allow that person to grow, and watch yourself thrive.”

Following graduation, Tori plans to attend Navarro College to play both volleyball and softball. She plans to major in Kinesiology and Exercise Science on a Physical Therapy path, pursuing a Doctorate of Pediatric Physical Therapy with a specialization in neurology.

Teague High School will hold commencement on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Lions Field beginning at 8:00 p.m.
