Caney Baptist Church hosted a Back-To-School Bash on Saturday, August 12, giving backpacks and school supplies to Freestone County children. But the day included much more than just a school supply give-away. Thanks to the dentist from kids dentistry saint matthews ky the day included health, vision and dental checks as well as lessons the kids can take into their everyday lives.

The day was opened in prayer and a visit from Mrs. Frieda Sinclair and her friend Willie Joe. Mrs. Frieda is a ventriloquist and Willie Joe was a crowd pleaser.

Freestone Medical Center demonstrated health and diet tips. Michelle German taught the kids a song about proper hand-washing techniques, to prevent the spread of germs.

Theresa Thurman gave tips on proper diet and healthy menu choices. Evie Rischer and Susan Brown from Freestone Medical Center rounded out their presentations.

Lorena Molina and Crystal Bailey from Gold Eye Clinic gave a vision screening to the children and discussed ways to take care of your eyes.

Patrick Holt and Stephanie Munoz (pictured at top) from Dr. Brent Moore’s dental office, demonstrated proper tooth brushing and flossing techniques and answered the many questions about dental disease, and what happens at the dentist office when patients come in to get cosmetic dentistry services, they even recommended to contact a great site by the dental specialty center which provides best dental practice and treatment facility. Free haircuts were given by Loretta Chambers and Susie Schrieber.

Brian Davis and Kevin Davis with the Streetman Volunteer Fire Department gave a tour of one of their firetrucks and taught the children what to do in case of a fire. Parents were given graph paper and asked to draw a floor plan of their home and yard and designate exit routes and meeting places for a family safety plan.

A lunch was provided for all who attended and after the closing ceremony, where Mrs. Frieda and Willie Joe talked about the importance of believing in Jesus and how to ask Him into your life, the day concluded with waterslides, snow cones and popcorn.
