Only 3 ballots decided the race for Place 3 on Teague City Council this past weekend.
A total of 1,027 citizens turned out to place their votes in the School Board and Municipal Elections, held May 2, 2026. The number of voters includes early voting and voting day tallies.
The Unofficial Results for the individual elections, according to the Freestone County’s Election Office, are as follows.
–Fairfield ISD
Trustee (2 places): Kevin Benedict – 407; John T. Fryer – 338; & Keith Whitaker – 275. Top two candidates will serve.
–City of Fairfield
Mayor: Bobby Nichols – 201 & Michael Daniels, Sr. – 91
Place 1: Bill Freeman – 173 & Roger Keeton – 101
Place 2: Kenny Hughes – 166 & Toni Abram – 128
–City of Teague
Mayor: Timothy Campbell – 127; Jack ‘Butch’ Hansel – 83; and Lois Ann Mims – 46
Place 1: Ron Rasbeary – 181
Place 3: Justin Johnson – 126 & Rhonda Jones – 123
–City of Wortham
Commissioner (2 places): Leonard Smith – 62; Michael Busby – 58; Rosie Keathley – 30; & Kelly Calame – 22. Top two candidates will serve.
–City of Streetman
Mayor: Barbara Polk – 47
Commissioners (2 places): Krysta Buss – 49; Belinda Owen – 36; and Subrenna Turner – 28. Top two candidates will serve.
Each entity will certify the results, and winning candidates are expected to be sworn in afterward.
