The Freestone County Go Texan BBQ Cook Off will be having at Kids Que this year.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026; entrants must be registered and paid by April 21, 2026.
The event fee is $20 per entry, and payout is to be determined.
Cooking begins at 3:00 p.m. and turn-in will be at 4:30 p.m.
Prim Ribeye will be donated by Butchers choice, grills provided by Small Town Tees, and charcoal by Firebull. You bring the rest.
There will be three age groups competing.
–Mini Pitmasters (Ages 5-8): Focus on fun, creativity, and basic cooking skills. Light supervision allowed from guardian.
–Junior Pitmasters (Ages 9-12): Focus on skill development, seasoning, and doneness. Verbal guidance only.
–Teen Pitmasters (Ages 12-17): Focus on full execution, technique, and presentation. No assistance allowed. Independent cooks only.
