It has begun! Construction on our much-needed addition to the Burlington-Rhode Island Railroad Museum is underway.

This building will provide a new home for the museum’s 1926 Seagraves fire truck and storage. It will also be used as a workspace for all the precious artifacts so they can be cared for properly and rotated in and out of the displays.

“Our team is excited to bring this asset to the museum,” said the folks at B-RI Railroad Museum.

While construction continues, the museum team is working on the second-floor cleaning, sorting, painting rooms and planning new displays.

Since their opening in early March, the Railroad Museum in Teague has hosted over 75 new visitors, and this week are hosting the Fairfield Elementary Pre-K students.

“We would like to thank our Freestone County Commissioners Court and the Teague EDC for helping us kick off this new project,” they said.

If you would like to help the museum in reaching their goals, contact Mary Lee or Richard Steen or any of their volunteers.
