Doane Baseball pitcher Kaden Crawford has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Pitcher of the Week after his performance in two games last week. This is the first time Crawford has received the honor.
Crawford is a freshman at Doane University in Nebraska. He is a 2022 graduate of Fairfield High School.
In Doane’s 9-2 win over Concordia (Neb.), he limited the now-No. 24 ranked Bulldogs to two runs in 4.1 innings to pick up the win. He struck out four batters in the game. He followed up the performance with a complete game victory over Dordt (Iowa). He struck out nine batters in 7.0 innings in a 7-1 win.
On the week, he posted 13 strikeouts in 11.1 innings, allowing eight hits and posting a 2.38 earned run average (ERA). Crawford is currently tied for the conference lead with seven wins this season and holds a GPAC-leading 2.63 ERA.
Crawford and the Tigers will play their final home games of the regular season on Thursday, April 27, against Briar Cliff (Iowa) and wrap up the regular season on Friday, April 28, at Fremont against Midland (Neb.).
