by Sheriff Jeremy Shipley
Tonight (April 19, 2023), our FCSO Deputies made a warrant arrest on a subject that is an A-#1, suspect (If you don’t know what that means, it means top of the list) in several thefts in Freestone, McLennan, and Falls Counties (Those are the ones we know so far). FCSO CID Lieutenant Scott Shaw has been heading this investigation for two weeks thus far and working closely with these other counties and has been an instrumental part in assisting in the recovery of a stolen vehicle from Freestone County, a trailer, and 2 backhoes so far.
This case is still ongoing with Information still being received and investigated by our agency along with others. We will try to update further information as the investigation continues.
We usually do not post pictures or individual names regarding our arrests on social media out of respect for family members and/or those that made a mistake and truly desire to change, but there are times such as this that we feel the public needs to know so they aren’t the next ones lied to, tricked, fooled, bamboozled, taken advantage of, and become another victim.
The suspect’s name is Luke Billings (left) and he has been charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle out of Freestone County so far, as we await further warrants from other counties. Mr. Billings will be arraigned and afforded the opportunity to post bond according to the law. This subject is considered innocent unless found guilty in the court of law. This information is being provided in order for the public to be aware.
If you believe you have further information regarding this individual and/or possible stolen property, please contact Lt. Shaw at 903-389-3236, leave a message and he’ll get back to you.
Great investigative work by Lt. Shaw and great teamwork between 3 counties as we work together to recover property and bring those to justice that are involved. Way to go!!
