Mr. Jackson passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the V. A. Hospital in Temple.

Donald Ray Jackson was born October 4, 1958, to parents, Raymond Forest and Alice Laverne Jackson. He grew up in Teague and Freestone and eventually earned his G.E.D. from Teague High School after leaving school early to serve his country in the U. S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, Donald returned to his beloved Freestone County. On January 12, 1978, he married Cynthia Posey and they shared over forty-three years and had four children together. Mr. Jackson loved his family, and that selfless love wasn’t only reserved for his wife and kids. Whether it was coaching little league or teaching Sunday School at the Teague Church of Christ, he was a father figure and mentor, showing so many a Godly love that all should strive to show. His greatest accomplishment was his children and especially his grandchildren who bestowed upon him his favorite title, that of “BigDad”. Anyone who knew him in the past twenty years, knew him as “BigDad”.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Jackson; four children, Chris Jackson & wife Courtney of Freestone, Cathy Finlay & husband Michael of Tyler, Craig Jackson & wife Amanda of Fairfield, and Chad Jackson & wife Ashley of Donie; seven grandchildren (who were the light of his eyes), Jaylee, Colin, Jordyn, Cason, Connor, Bransyn, and Houston; one sister, Doris Stevens & husband Gene of Buffalo; numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly called him “Uncle Donald” or “Uncle Bubbie”.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Forest & Alice Laverne Jackson, and one sister, Dixie Alldredge.
