April 2021 rainfall came in below normal at 2.69 inches. We had a total of six days with measurable rainfall and a greatest one-day total of 1.41 inches on April 16. Normal rainfall for April is 3.72 inches.

Our total rainfall for the year stands at 11.03 inches. Normal through April is 15.25 inches.

Temperature-wise, April was just slightly warmer than March. We had a high of 86 degrees on April 28 and a low of 39 degrees on April 1 compared to a high of 83 degrees and a low of 41 degrees for March. Note that the April low was two degrees cooler than the March low.

The average daily high temperature for April was 75 degrees compared to 74 degrees for March. On the low side, the average was 59 degrees for April and 52 degrees for March. The overall daily averages were only four degrees apart at 67 degrees for April and 63 degrees for March.

Looking ahead to May: We will be seeing warmer days ahead with temperatures mainly from the mid 80’s to mid 90’s. May is usually our stormiest and wettest month of the year. Our normal rainfall for May is 5.46 inches.

Normal rainfall values given were derived from averages over the twenty-year period 2001 through 2020.
