Update on the City’s Water Crisis-
Our Public Works Department worked long into the night and was back at it early this morning trying to keep our water system going.
At this time we have ground storage pumping only on one pump. They are trying to fix several frozen lines at the wells.
If unsuccessful we may be forced to turn the pump off resulting in the lack of water.
The problems we are battling are caused from the lack of electricity for a prolonged amount of time and the natural gas lines that fuel the generators are frozen.
We will continue to work to try to resolve these issues but with the temperatures remaining low and tomorrow’s forecast we face many obstacles ahead.
Electric:
As local utilities are allowed by ERCOT to restore service, please remember this so the power stays on…
If you are without power, turn off your thermostat and unplug appliances. Too much load on restored circuits at once can cause another outage.
For Those in Need of a Warm Place:
Just confirmed that Cedar Stone Church on Hwy 84 is open and warm. They have people there with coffee and hot chocolate and Chile and spaghetti.
