Freestone County Sheriff’s Office has received three new patrol units and a first ever, a transport van for Freestone County.

The Commissioners approved these vehicles in September 2019, but as we all know, 2020 is full of complications, no exception here.

Which means that instead of the January delivery expected, they were just now received according to Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley.

The transport van is an important piece of equipment that can help save time and money for the Sheriff’s Department and in turn, Freestone County.

The van seats thirteen people with three separate areas that are divided.

This means the van can transport male and female prisoners and even violent offenders at the same time.

Previously, they would have needed two or three Tahoes and someone to drive the vehicle, in turn, taking them out off the Freestone County.
