Hubert Gene Reynolds, Sr. passed away on September 17, 2020, in Fairfield, Texas. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2020 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ed Ridge officiating. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Chapel Cemetery with military honors. Interment followed.

Hubert was born June 8, 1930 in Corsicana, Texas to parents Albert Frank and Frankie Lee Reynolds. Hubert served in the Korean War with United States Navy on the USS Pelican AMS-32, a minesweeper. Hubert retired from Verizon Telephone in 1992, then ran a small cattle operation while working for Freestone County creating the design for and implementing the first 911 Emergency System in the county. He maintained the system as Freestone County 911 Coordinator until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Vivian Spivey, wife of 50 years Christine Spivey Reynolds, and daughter Clarissa Ann Wilson.

Survivors include his children, Gene Reynolds (Renee) of Fairfield, Texas, Debbie Young (Billy) of Waco, and Alice Bonner (Frank) also of Fairfield. Hubert left six grandchildren, Kristen Landon and Justin Young of Waco, Allison Scherer and Tyler Bonner of Fairfield, Anna Richards of New York City, and Laura Kelley of Belton. He was blessed to have seven great grandchildren.
