There was an explosion at a local business in Fairfield, Texas last Thursday, October 10th, 2019 around 2:30 p.m.
A 55 gallon drum exploded accidently shooting into the air and landing on the owners head, injuring him according to an eye witness.
Jim Watterson, owner of KNES Texas 99.1 FM, discovered the man unresponsive and not breathing.
After working to stabilize him, Fairfield EMS arrived and took over.
The injured man was transported by air and is currently in ICU, but is doing better according to Watterson.
Watterson and Brenda Pate, Executive Director-Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, both say that the explosion shook the entire building.
On the scene were Fairfield VFD and Fairfield EMS as well as the Fairfield Police Department.
The victim was reportedly taken to the hospital via life-flight.
