Mr. Weaks passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019, at his residence near Fairfield.
Weldon Lee Weaks was born in Temple, Texas on December 31, 1964 to parents, Alymer Lee & Sarlyn Dossey Weaks. He graduated from Belton High School with the Class of 1982. Mr. Weaks joined the U. S. Marine Corps in 1986. He was forever proud of the Marine Corps and the Marines he served with. He took great pride in meeting any fellow Marines and sharing the bond they all had. After leaving the Marine Corps in 1991, he moved back to Texas and started his career as a land surveyor. Weldon has completed all types of surveying in his long career. In the last couple of years his work in the surveying community has been to help fellow surveyors find jobs. He married Diane Lynn Hite on June 29, 2005 and soon after they relocated to Fairfield, where they have since lived; side by side through the best years of their lives. The last 5 years his biggest passion has been BBQ. Weldon loved to cook and give it to people to try. It was a way for Weldon to connect with people. He loved the smiles his food brought to people’s faces, because everyone thought his food was the best.
Mr. Weaks is survived by his wife, Diane Weaks; three children, Mistie Lynn Weaks, Ryan Lee Weaks, and Brianna Weaks; six grandchildren, Seth Leija, Skylar Erwin, Ashlyn Erwin, Kiahlynn Weaks, Jace Rutledge and Cameron Weaks; and two sisters, Sharon and Joyce.
