There are a lot of fun things to do at the Red Oak Ranch that a lot of people might not think of. Thursday, of last week, after feeding the cows and the calf in the corral I went down to feed Sundance. She came up talking to me and tossing her head to let me know she was ready to eat. She and I talked for a while and then I brushed her. I told her I would go get her oats and she should just wait for me where she was. When I got back there with the oats she was walking back and forth evidently not real pleased that she had to wait a little longer.

While she was eating I was playing a new country music CD I had gotten. I asked Sundance if she wanted to dance along with me but she didn’t answer since she was busy with her food. I told her if she didn’t know the Texas Two-Step, the 3 step or even the waltz I could teach her since I used to be an assistant dance instructor. Still she didn’t pay any attention to me. So, I danced anyway and was having a great time. Then I noticed that every once in a while she would look at me while she was chewing her oats. She was nearing the end of her oats, I was dancing and somewhere along the line started singing too. Suddenly, Sundance finished her oats, looked at me and took off at an amazing speed. I figure she went from 0-60 in about 2 seconds! Guess she didn’t care for my singing or maybe my dancing or maybe both but I had a good time! It is always a good day if you look for it at the Red Oak Ranch!
