With life seeming to be busier than ever, the Military Families Learning Network’s Military Caregiving program will offer a webinar titled “How to Better Connect with and Influence Others” to help caregivers in their professional roles.
The Jan. 16 webinar will begin at 10 a.m. and is open to anyone interested. To join the session or for more information, go to https://militaryfamilieslearningnetwork.org/event/22054/.
The Military Caregiving webinars are offered through AgriLife Extension’s Military Program to provide professional development and interactive resources for those unable to leave home for training, said Andrew Crocker, AgriLife Extension program specialist in gerontology and health, Amarillo.
“Let’s take some time to slow down, take a deep breath and learn more about ourselves and other people,” said Rachel Brauner, program coordinator with the agency’s Texas Military Program in College Station. “Let’s learn how to make a greater impact on our own lives as well as the lives of other people.”
She said in this webinar, participants will learn tips to help increase self-awareness or emotional intelligence and also how to be more aware of other people or social intelligence.
“Our goal is to give you some tools and maybe have some fun along the way,” Brauner said. “We believe if you are having fun, you are more apt to learn, grow and change behavior.
“You will learn a bit about Neuro-Linguistic Programming and how our brains are wired to send and receive information. You will learn many things you can take out and start using immediately to have stronger relationships and a greater impact in the world.”
The presenter will be Frank Keck, CEO and founder of Core Build in Shawnee, Kansas. He will focus on performance improvement in leadership, culture shaping, team building and “embracing your freakness.”
Keck has authored and presented dynamic keynote addresses and seminars helping clients achieve the most from their lives by pushing beyond preset limitations to develop new levels of success.
The MFLN Military Caregiving concentration will provide certificates of completion for participants interested in receiving training hours and one continuing education credit from the University of Texas Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work.
