The annual Fall Style Show & Dinner, presented by Freestone Cancer Support Group (FCSG), will be held on Tuesday evening, October 30, 2018 at The Depot X Event Center.
Tickets are $15. Proceeds benefit FCSG.
This organization was formed in September 2012 when local women and men made the decision to form a “group” whose purpose was to help citizens in Freestone County that are dealing with cancer.
“We realized we would never be able to pay medical bills or household bills, but knew we wanted to make the journey battling cancer a little easier,” reads a recent social media post. “It was at that time we decided we could help with expenses traveling to and from treatments.”
When FCSG first started, they had $200 in a bank account. Since that time, they have given $172,650 in gifts to 157 cancer patients living in Freestone County. “We don’t just give these patients a one-time gift, we revisit each patient and, if there is still a need, we send these patients another gift.”
Tickets to next week’s Style Show & Dinner are available in advance at Armadillo Emporium and Texas Outfitters.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m.; meal will be served at 6:30 p.m.
