Wortham played in the 49th annual Leon Volleyball tournament over the past three days. Thursday and Friday’s pool play seeded Wortham in the silver bracket on Saturday, August 18, 2018.
Wortham began the silver bracket with a lost to East Bernard 16-25, 10-25.
–Ashley Mao had 5 kills and 2 digs.
–Rylee Goolsby had 1 kill, 1 dig and 3 blocks.
–Setter Jayde Hamilton had 8 assist, 3 digs, 1 block and 1 kill.
–Libero Hallie Fautt had 14 digs.
–Skylar Phillips had 1 kill and 2 assist.
–Samantha Wright had 2 digs along with Jessica Black having one block.
–Setter Reagan Stuver had 7 assist and defense specialist Megan Whaley had 5 digs.
Wortham then took on Westwood and won in two sets 25-18 and 25-15.
–Ashley Mao had 4 kills and 6 digs.
–Rylee Goolsby had 5 kills.
–Jayde Hamilton had 3 kills, 13 assist and 5 digs.
–Libero Hallie Fautt had 2 digs and 2 kills.
–Skylar Phillips had 1 assist and 1 block.
–Samantha Wright had 2 kills and 1 block.
–Jessica Black had 1 kill and 1 block.
–Megan Whaley had 2 digs and 1 kill and one ace.

Wortham beat Cassleberry in two sets earning Consolation in the silver bracket. Wortham won 25-6 and 25-22.
–Ashley Mao had 5 kills, 5 digs, and 1 block.
–Rylee Goolsby had 2 kills, 2 digs and 1 block.
–Jayde Hamilton had 2 kills, 2 aces, 3 digs and 6 assists.
–Jessica Black had 2 kills, 2 aces and one block.

–Libero Hallie Fautt had an impressive serve receive and 7 digs.
–Defense specialist Megan Whaley helped the our serve receive and had 4 digs.
Wortham started the tournament with a loss to East Bernard but then really played as team to take the consolation in the silver bracket.
