Two Fairfield men have been arrested after a fight resulting in one shooting five rounds from a 9mm handgun into the other’s car.

According to the Officer’s Affidavit, at about 10:15 p.m. on Friday night, August 3rd, Freestone County Sheriff Sergeants Scott Shaw and Preston Cordova responded to a reported shooting incident at a residence on Private Road 239, located at the back of the Lakewood subdivision in Fairfield.

Upon arrival, the Sergeants found fellow FCSO Patrol Deputies and Fairfield Police Department Officers had detained multiple individuals and secured the scene.

Individuals at the property include Roger Reeves, Pricilla Zwierzchowski, Richard Reeves, Justin Baker, and Roxanne McClennan.

Sgt. Shaw and Cordova were informed by deputies on scene that the incident allegedly stemmed from an argument concerning a food stamp card between Roger Reeves, 31, and Justin Baker, 28.

During the incident, Baker is reported to have struck Reeve’s 2017 Dodge Charger with his fists and a boot that he had taken off. Multiple dents were observed in the trunk lid and the rear window was shattered, resulting in a physical altercation between the two men.

During the brawl, Roger’s brother, Richard Reeves, reportedly joined in the fight, placing Baker in a choke hold, enabling Roger to punch Baker multiple times in the head.

The fight continued, and Roger Reeves is alleged to have retrieved a 9mm handgun, pointing it at Baker, then turning the gun to Baker’s Chevy Cavalier and firing five shots into the vehicle.

Finally, Richard Reeves is reported to have used a truck to force Baker’s car away from the front gate, where it had been parked, blocking anyone from exiting the property.

Roger Reeves was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a 2nd Degree Felony. Bail was set at $25,000.

Justin Baker was also arrested, and charged with Criminal Mischief between $2,500 and $30,000, a 2nd Degree Felony. Bail was set at $5,000.

Both are ordered to have no contact and to remain at least 500 feet away from each other at all times.

According to court documents, Richard Reeves was taken to the hospital by Fairfield EMS for injuries sustained during the altercation, and was later released.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional persons may be charged.
