The Fairfield Lions Club gathered at Sam’s Restaurant on Thursday, July 27, 2017 for their annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.
During the Freestone County Fair & Rodeo, the Lions Club Booth opened each evening to serve their famous hamburgers and other fair favorites to raise money for local scholarships.
This year, with the help of numerous volunteers, the Lions were able to open for lunch as well, which added to the funds raised.
The Fairfield Lions Club would like to thank the following volunteers for helping to make this year’s fundraiser a success: Anna Bonilla, Ed Cormier, Madeline Wright, and Tyler Smith of Brookshire Brothers of Fairfield; Emi Bonner, Britain Bossier, Shakeitha Wiley, and Brittani Oglesbee of the Fairfield High School Interact Club; Bettye Trask, Janet Bulger, Riley Hempel, William Jameson, Dewayne Kerr, Angela Oglesbee, Faith Pinson, Zoey Ray, Garrett Wainwright, Bryan Chavers of Chavers Construction & Maintenance, Superintendent Tony Price and Fairfield Independent School District, and Nelson Propane.
