LOOKING AHEAD TO JUNE:  June is normally our fourth wettest month of the year with 4.03 inches of rain; and our third hottest month.

We will be seeing hotter temperatures in June with highs mainly in the 90’s. Looking back over the past 23 years however, we had triple-digit temperatures in June of 1998 and 2011.

We had 44 triple –digit temperature days in 1998 and 66 in 2011 for a total of 110 one hundred degree plus days for those two years. With that in mind, let us hope we don’t have any triple-digit days in June this year.

The above rainfall and temperature data was recorded by Barney Leach, former volunteer co-op weather observer for the National Weather Service and former weather volunteer for Channel 8 in Dallas, Channel 10 in Waco, and radio station KNES in Fairfield.
