Teague High School Class of 2017 graduating seniors were presented with a total estimated amount of $2,582,625 in scholarships and grants during the 2017 Senior Awards Night held Tuesday evening in the T.H.S. Auditorium.

Local families, businesses and industries in the area gave approximately $100,000 of that amount. Students receiving the scholarships and grants will be attending two and four year schools and universities to further their education once they cross the stage on Thursday, June 1, 2017, and officially becoming Teague High School graduates.

Students in the top 10 percent of the 2017 Senior Class graduates are: Thalia Trinidad, 4.730; Monica Guerrero, 4.714; Archi Patel, 4.688; Rachel White, 4.65; Dylan Angel, 4.65; Ayline Arrezola, 4.648; Cooper Jones, 4.584; Hayley Harris, 4.473; and Ally Skinner, 4.434.

Honor Graduates for the Class of 2017 are: Thalia Trinidad, Monica Guerrero, Archi Patel, Rachel White, Dylan Angel, Ayline Arrezola, Cooper Jones, Hayley Harris, Ally Skinner, Colton Heath, Elizabeth Perales, Noah Handsome, Bradley Smith, Jacob Smith, Jaime Davila, Lori Massey, Keely Clark, Bailee Day, Shanleigh Curry, Whitney Wills, Ian May, Cierra Morris, Mylan Shed, Brandon Persons, Ashlee Tinsley, Carson Black, Luke Weeks and Kinsey Persons.

Honor, Academic and Special Awards were also presented to members of the Class of 2017 during the three-hour program.

The Al Holland, Jr. Integrity Trophy, the highest award given each year to a graduating senior, was presented to Hayley Harris. The award is based on Sincerity, honesty, courageousness, and concern for others.

The Tommy Massey Award, given to the Outstanding Senior Boy, was presented to Cooper Jones. The award is based on citizenship, sportsmanship and integrity.

The Stringer Award, presented to the Outstanding Senior Girl, was presented to Ayline Arrizola. The award is based on cooperation, sincerity and integrity.

The Earle Long Award was presented to Jaylon Davis. This award is presented to the Outstanding Senior Athlete.

The Christina Rankin Memorial Award, based on commitment, dedication and perseverance, was presented to Hayley Harris and Ally Skinner.

Ally Skinner was presented with the Greg Huber Memorial Award. This award is presented to a senior girl based on athletics, sportsmanship, citizenship and integrity.

The Jolene Sledge Principal Award, based on leadership, was presented to Mylan Shed.

The DeKalb Award was presented to Rachel White and is based on scholarship, leadership and completion of projects.

The W.D. Black Award, which is given each year to an Outstanding Senior Agriculture Student, was presented to Lori Massey

The Bryan Penney Memorial Award, given to the Outstanding Tractor Mechanics Student, was presented to Colton Gore.

The Kyle Kilman Memorial Award was presented to Thalia Trinidad.

Many Local and Memorial Scholarships were presented by individuals and groups who raised money to help the T.H.S. seniors with furthering their education. They are as follows:
