Proud to be partnering to provide exception medical care in Freestone County are Glenn Robinson (left), President of Baylor, Scott & White Health and Stace Holland (right), new CEO of Freestone Medical Center. Freestone Medical Center will officially take over from ETMC on January 1, 2017.
“Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future, and Serving the Community,” is the slogan for the new Freestone Medical Center (FMC).
As the Fairfield Hospital District Board begins to put final touches on all the plans laid out to transition from ETMC-Fairfield to FMC, board members took time to introduce the new CEO (Chief Executive Officer) for FMC, Mr. Stace Hollard.
Mr. Hollard touched on several different key points during his initial report after being on location for only two days:
–Set up a new phone tree rotation that will eliminate an answering service, allowing patients to speak to a live person for assistance.
–A CHC recommended candidate has been interviewed for the position of Interim CFO (Chief Financial Officer). Mr. Hollard believes the candidate to be a good fit for FMC and has plans to offer the position, with the possibility of it becoming permanent.
–A Staff Meet & Greet has been set up for Thursday, December 29th for staff members to meet Mr. Hollard. There will be four opportunities for staff to attend; 7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.
–Mr. Hollard plans to have a Morning Huddle on January 3rd to see how things are running and what changes could be made to run more smoothly following the transition.
–On Tuesday, January 24th from 4-6 p.m., FMC will have an Open House, along with a Ribbon Cutting as a member of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
–Mr. Hollard made a request that the Board establish spending limits for himself and the CFO. This will be voted on at the next meeting scheduled Wednesday, December 28th.
Also at this meeting, FMC’s new website was previewed. It will be up and running for public use on January 1st. The web address is www.freestonemc.com.
Board member Andy Awalt was voted in as Secretary of the board, a position that was previously nonexistent prior to this meeting. The position was implemented in order to have someone to legally sign checks on behalf of the Board.
The transition is well underway and things are looking good for the transition. Freestone Medical Center is ready and willing to serve the community with the best health care possible.
