Walk to Emmaus, a three day experience, is designed to strengthen Christian faith, and develop Christian leaders who will serve their local churches, families, communities, and the world. The name comes from Luke 24:13-35, when the risen Christ joined two people on the road to Emmaus, discussing the Scriptures and the life of faith with them. The program highlights the model of Christ’s servanthood and encourages Christ’s disciples to act in ways appropriate to being “a servant to all”.
Being involved in a small group after your Walk to Emmaus is one of the best ways to grow in your relationship with God and with other people! It’s a great place to connect with other believers for friendship, support, prayer, Bible study, and discussion.
We are starting a small group, Fifth Day Chapter, in Fairfield for anyone who has completed the Walk To Emmaus. The Fifth Day is not another Walk; it is a means to remember our original Walk, strengthen our faith as disciples and learn to serve as disciple makers.
The Get Started Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 29, 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Mount Street, Fairfield. Enter through the wooden main doors on Commanche Street.
