Murder suspect, Johnny Leon Wilson, 48, wanted for the murder of his estranged wife Charine Marie Wilson (Young), 29, was apprehended on Wednesday, January 30th in Las Vegas by a U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force.

On December 12th, deputies with Navarro County Sheriff’s Office found Charine’s body lying in a ditch on SE 1190A near Richland in Navarro County.

An autopsy showed that she died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Charine was reported missing from Houston on November 12, 2018.

According to the victim’s son, he was with her when she drove to Wilson’s apartment on November 10, 2018. Charine walked into the apartment and had not been seen since.

Police said after a brief time, Wilson came out of the apartment alone, got into Charine’s car and drove her son to a fast food restaurant where he dropped him off and left.

Law Enforcement say investigators found cleaning supplies, a bucket and mop, and evidence of blood stains inside the suspect’s apartment.

Surveillance video obtained by police showed Wilson removing a large object that appeared to look like a body from his apartment and putting it into the trunk of a car.

Wilson was charged with Charine’s death on November 14th and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

According to a press release, Wilson was arrested near Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street, where he was staying in a hotel under an alias.

As of Thursday, January 31st, Wilson was behind bars in the Clark County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Texas.
