The Freestone County Fair Association Inc. held its Annual Members Dinner on Monday, October 11 at the Twisted Vines Event Center in Fairfield. President Clint Minchew welcomed the members and guest totally 87. The invocation was given by Wendon Morrison, Fairfield. The meal was catered by Sam’s Restaurant.

The 2021 Officers are President Clint Minchew, Fairfield; Vice President Sid Fryer, Fairfield; Secretary Todd Craig, Teague; Treasurer Scott Holmes, Teague. Directors are Jody Bodine, Teague; Frank Bonner, Fairfield; Brent Holmes, Teague; David Pickens, Butler; and Collin Puckett, Fairfield.

Minchew introduced the following new chairs Nicole Crawford, Home and Garden Exhibits and Emily Goodson, Coronation of Queens. The Directors have already started making plans for the FCFA “100 years of Traditions and Heritage” celebration in June 2022.

Minchew reported FCFA member Kelly Tyus started researching and documenting the past 100 years of the FCFA for the book to be printed in 2022. All pictures of parade, coronation, rodeo or fair are welcomed. Send your copies of pictures and information to kelly.tyus@gmail.com.

Vice President Sid Fryer recognized the 2021 Rodeo Sponsors and Minchew presented them with a plaque. The Premier Rodeo Sponsor was Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, Fairfield. Three new Directors were elected Clint Minchew, Nadine Ivy Phillips and Michael Morrison. These new directors will serve a three-year term.

“Looking Through the Past to Find the Future” has become the mantra of the Freestone County Fair Association since discovering this theme from 1993. FCFA wants the strong heritage of the past 100 years to be a celebration of what is to come in the future starting with the 2022 six-day event of excitement and entertainment. FCFA need you and your ideas, assistance and energy to make this the grandest parade, fair, home and garden exhibits, coronation, ag mechanics, rodeo and livestock show ever. Catch the enthusiasm and be a part of the 100-year Celebration.
