Applause and laughter filled the auditorium at Fairfield High School during the 2020 Miss Earth contest held Thursday, December 10, 2020.

The judge’s panel consisted of Miss Freestone Outstanding Teen – Jaysa Smith, Coach John Bachtel, Coach Kevin Childers (who was a favorite of the contestants), and Freestone County District Attorney AND former Miss Earth Brian Evans.

The nine contestants (Miss Switzerland missed her flight) showed up to showcase their talents and then to showcase the most beautiful evening gowns.

Miss Mexico, Margarita Sanchez aka Eddie Sanchez, started the show in a stunning fashion with her performance of Whitney Houston’s, “I get so Emotional” complete with red rose petals, and gloves flying off.

Showing off her gymnastic moves, even if with a bit of a wardrobe malfunction with the tank top, was Miss Italy, Judy Means aka Jacoby Means, along with Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”.

Complete with her guitar was Miss Scotland, Wymberleigh Prihoda aka Will Prihoda, singing Taylor Swift’s “Teardrops on my Guitar”.


Miss Ireland, Belinda Blarthnaid aka Blain Tucker, showcased her Irish Jig skills with the help of three assistants all while wearing a stunning gown.

In perfect USA fashion, Miss USA, Charlie Broussard aka Caden Broussard, stepped out to show us how to do a variety of TikTok dances with perfection.

Miss France, Lauren Latham aka Luke Latham, became a precious sugar plum dancing ballet to Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy complete with a tutu.

 

“Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen was perfected by Miss Canada, Maxine McBean aka Max McBean.

Showing us how to really dance was Miss Russia, Anastasia Gorky aka Colton Granberry, performing to “Rasputin” Vladimir Putin, Love The Way You Move (Funk Overload) with some assistants.

Miss Australia, Tyesha Smith aka Tyler Smith, went for a race to showcase her talent of ‘Speed’ to show us just how fast she can run.

After the talent portion, the contestants showed off their prose by modeling off the most beautiful of evening gowns.

Before long, they all returned to the stage to announce the winners.
Winning Miss Photogenic, a contest where people bet by donating money to each candidate, was Miss Russia!

Winning Miss Talent was Miss Canada for their mesmerizing “Call Me Maybe” performance.

Finally, it was time to found out who came in second runner up, first runner up and Miss Earth.

Coming in as Second Runner-up was Miss Italy, even though they were turned down by Coach Childer’s when they asked him out on a date.

The First Runner-up was Miss Ireland with her deep plunging neckline, and near perfect makeup.

Miss Earth 2020 was won by the one, the only Miss France, Lauren Latham.
