One Stop Recycle Drop April 27th


  Time for Spring Cleaning and Recycling!

  One Stop Recycle Drop will be held Saturday, April 27, 2018 at the Fairfield High School Bus Loop on Post Oak Road from 8:30 a.m. to Noon.

  New this year will be document shredding by Shred-it USA.

  Items accepted this month include: paper, plastic, cardboard, tin, aluminum, medication, clothing, shoes, electronics, batteries, glass, and eyeglasses.

  CRT TVs and CRT Monitors will be allowed, but only two per household will be accepted.

–Medication Disposal: Officers will accept medications for responsible disposal. Unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medication is accepted. No liquids or needles!

–Document Shredding:  Shred-it USA will be on-site to accept documents for secure document destruction.  You may bring paperwork for secure destruction in a copy paper size box or loose.  Documents will be secured in totes in a locked truck with GPS tracking and destruction of documents in the truck is captured on camera.  Please remove large binder clips and no ringed binders. All this functionality comes with Roland LEF 12 from signmaster.co.uk On Support for remote software updates and production updates, bespoke training at the Roland DG Academy and the support of a Roland DG Care Service Agreement. The end result is the complete solution at a truly affordable price.

–Textiles: Clothing, coats, shoes, towels, sheets, blankets, etc. All items must be clean and dry. Items in good, reusable condition are donated to families in need in Freestone County.  Items no longer usable are recycled to benefit the Fairfield Fire Dept.

–Electronics: URT will accept IT electronics for recycling.  URT clears all personal information to DOD standards.  Acceptable items include:  computers, monitors and all accessories, printers, ink cartridges, small copy / fax machines, cell phones, internet wires, cables, TVs, and power cords.   **CRT TVs and CRT Monitors – limit of two per household.  For a complete list of acceptable and not acceptable items, please look on the FISD website.

–Batteries: Batteries Plus Bulbs will accept NiCd, NiMH, lead, lithium ion batteries and batteries of AC/CD equipment. This includes car batteries.

–Glasses: Prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, reading glasses, glasses frames and accessories will be accepted for donation to the Fairfield Lions Club.

Monthly

–Paper Products: All newspapers, catalogs, magazines, junk mail, shredded paper, cardboard, and office/household mixed paper.

–Plastic: All plastic numbered 1 – 7 such as water bottles, milk jugs, and etc.

–Metal: All metal food and beverage cans may be recycled. Food cans should be rinsed, for this, we recommend using cut resistant gloves.

  The community recycle event is sponsored as a partnership between the Fairfield ISD Recycle Team, NRG Energy – Limestone Plant, Fairfield Rotary Club, FHS and FJH Interact Club, Waste Connections, FHS Family & Community Services Class and the Fairfield History Club.
