YOUNG AUTHOR, ANNA ALLEN, receives instruction on accessing the audio version of her new book from Fairfield Library Director Gary Wiggins. Books written by first through fifth graders will be on display until the end of May.

A special Author’s Tea was hosted at Fairfield Public Library on the morning of Thursday, May 10, 2018.

On display were the finished works of Elementary and Intermediate students, under the publishing direction of Fairfield teacher, Rachel Bossier.

“This is our 10th annual event,” says Bossier. This year, there are one hundred and sixty books, written and illustrated by first through sixth graders.

According to Bossier, the projects were completed over a period of six weeks.

There is something for everyone, including books about what might be under the bed, an exciting fight with a pig, and the perils of having mud on your bike.

The authors were tasked with writing about an experience they had in their hometown of Fairfield, Texas.

Book covers include a barcode that, when used with a smart phone or tablet, will take readers to the book’s audio version. Select books include a movie, based on the book.

These books will be on display for readers to enjoy until the end of May.

Fairfield Library is located at 350 W. Main Street.
