Lewis Dewayne Randle, 57, of Teague died in an early-morning vehicle wreck on Interstate 45, just 10 miles south of Fairfield on Tuesday morning, December 13th.
Donald Keith Rutledge, 67, of Buffalo was injured in the collision as well; and was flown to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco.
Information on his injuries has not been released.
At about 5:30 a.m. that morning, both vehicles were headed southbound on the interstate when, for some reason, they collided.
The force of the collision sent both vehicles in opposite directions.
Mr. Rutledge was in the vehicle that went off the roadway to the right; and he was partially ejected.
Mr. Randle’s vehicle took off to the left into the median where it struck a tree.
DPS Sergeant D.L. Wilson was first responder to the wreck.
