On 04/02/2022 Officer Price conducted a traffic stop on State Highway 14 in Wortham for speeding. During the traffic stop Officer Price along with Sgt. Craig conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.
While searching the vehicle a large bag containing approximately 2000 Xanax pills was located along with an open container of alcohol and other drug paraphernalia.
Field tests on some of the paraphernalia tested positive for Fentanyl which is a very dangerous narcotic, classified as a synthetic opioid that is 80 – 100 times stronger than morphine and can cause respiratory distress and death just by skin contact in the right amounts.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Freestone County Jail where he was charged with Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 over 400 grams, a First Degree Felony, and Possession Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 less than one gram, a State Jail Felony.
Approximate street value of the narcotics seized is $20,000.00.
