On Saturday, April 12, 2025, Wortham Police Department, in cooperation with Mexia Police Department, executed a narcotics search warrant on East Tamarisk in Mexia. This was the result of a lengthy investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in our cities.
While serving the search warrant, more than 660 grams of suspected methamphetamine were located as well as prescription pills packaged to sell, multiple firearms and packaging material.
After execution of the search warrant, multiple felony warrants were served in Wortham and Mexia for narcotics distribution and engaging in organized criminal activity.
This investigation was an excellent example of teamwork between Wortham and Mexia Police Departments.
These cases are currently pending Federal Prosecution at the US Attorney’s office in Waco.
Also, special thanks to the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation and serving the search and arrest warrants.
