On 06-04-2022 Sgt. Craig was patrolling and working traffic enforcement in Streetman. While traveling on Interstate 45, Sgt. Crag conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an obstructed vehicle tag, that prevented him from being able to view all of the numbers on the tag.
After checking the drivers information it was discovered that he was wanted in Harris County for Assault on a pregnant woman.
Sgt. Craig requested a back up officer and Deputy Cambell and Trooper Gray arrived to assist.
After a probable cause search of the vehicle and the passenger, Sgt. Craig found over 5 pounds of Marijuana, 11.3 grams of Ecstasy, 6.6 grams of Cocaine and a .45 caliber handgun.
Both subjects were arrested without incident and transported to the Freestone County Jail.
The driver was charged with the warrant from Harris County as well as Poss of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 4-400 gams, Poss Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 4-400 grams, Poss Marijuana 5-50 pounds and unlawful carry of a weapon.
The passenger was charged with Poss of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 4-400 grams, Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 4-400 and Possession of Marijuana 5-50 pounds.
