On May 1st Sgt. K. Craig and Officer C. Price were riding as a 2 man unit patrolling Interstate 45 in Streetman. While doing so they noticed a vehicle pass them displaying a fraudulent paper tag.
A traffic stop was conducted and further investigation led to a probable cause search of the vehicle.
The search of the vehicle yielded approximately 24 pounds of marijuana inside a duffel bag and a suitcase.
Both the driver and the passenger were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana more than 5 pounds less than 50 pounds, a Third Degree Felony.
The estimated street value of the seized marijuana is $130,000.
