Wortham PD Pulls Patrol, Council Ends Contract With Streetman

Wortham Police Department will no longer be lending its force to the City of Streetman beginning in April of 2018.

A vote by City of Wortham Alderpersons was made at the October 17, 2017 meeting with only a small quorum in attendance.

Voting in favor of discontinuing the service were Frank McClellan and John Tacker. Jeff Carr voted against.

Alderpersons Mindy McGlone and Cliff NeSmith (Mayor Pro Tem) were not in attendance.

Wortham Police Department has served the City of Streetman per an agreement for nearly 10 years.

As long a quorum is met, action taken by council is considered official.
