The Wortham Lady Bulldogs are a win away from the regional tournament and can earn that bid with a win over the Bremond Lady Tigers on Tuesday in Groesbeck.
Wortham (34-11) defeated Chilton in the first round at Axtell High School in straight sets to make the run of 60 consecutive sets won by Wortham, shattering the old school record of 57 set a couple of years ago. Wortham won 25-12, 25-12, and 25-13 behind 14 kills by Skylar Phillips and Samantha Wright. Rylee Goolsby had 12 kills and a couple of service aces and Megan Whaley and Brynn Bowden kept the offense going with a combination of 37 digs. Setter Reagan Stuver had 35 assists and added 14 digs.

The Lady Bulldogs moved to the area round and Riesel High School for the match against Bosqueville. They continued with another straight set win for the 10th ranked Wortham team 25-8, 25-20, and 25-17. Goolsby had 20 kills and four blocks to lead the dominating defensive effort for the Lady Bulldogs. Libero Megan Whaley had 17 digs and a service ace and Stuver had 25 assists.
The Fairfield Lady Eagles finish the season with a straight set loss to China Spring following a straight set win in the bi-district round over Center. Teague lost to Rogers in the bi-district round in four games.
