Wortham PD received a report of a potential threat at Wortham ISD on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
As a precaution, the school district was placed on lockdown.
After further investigation, it was determined that there was no credible threat, and the report stemmed from a comment posted on a social media site the prior day.
Wortham PD, DPS Criminal Investigation Division, and the District Attorney’s Office are currently investigating the incident.
Wortham PD takes every report seriously, and the safety of students and staff is of the utmost importance.
