Headliner Bobbie Mercy Oliver & Jam City Revue (above) will be featured at this year’s Wortham Blues Festival on September 14, 2019 in downtown Wortham, Texas. Blues fans are in for a treat with this line up.

This band started forming in 2016 after members Bob Bosch, drums, and Dan Mills, lead guitar and vocals, met one another. The addition of Lamar Evans, rhythm guitar and vocals, and Michelle Henderson, Bass and Lead Vocals, completed the 4 member band of Knot Today.
Their Rock n’ Roll and Blues sound is extremely fun and energetic. What a great way to kick off the excitement at the Wortham Blues Festival.
—Frank Hasty & Da’ Merge Band prides themselves on quality sound, tightly woven vocals, and neatness of appearance. Every member sings allowing them a greater variety of genres and sounds.
Not only are they a delight for your ears, but they are also a visual delight. The band incorporate steps and movements into their show with a hint of 70’s fashion.
They are toted at “the band to see” by some in their hometown of Dallas, Texas.
Frank Hasty & Da’ Merge Band will take the stage from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
–Robin Banks comes all the way in Wortham, Texas from Toronto, Ontario. Banks was born in Canada, transplanted to Dallas, and then Jamaica helping her become a diverse, international artist.
Well known in International Blues circles for being a fearless, female force. Banks has been nominated three times for Female Vocalist of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards, and was winner of New Artist of the Year 1997 at the Maple Blues Awards.
Her vocal style, strength and clarity have been compared to Dinah Washington and Etta Jones.
Robin Banks Blues Band will take the stage from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
–Bobbie Mercy Oliver, the Texas Blues King, will be taking the stage at 10:00 p.m. and playing till closing time.
Bobbie Mercy Oliver & Jam City Revue has that authentic East Texan Blues sound that is often duplicated, but rarely replicated.
Bobbie Oliver was born October, 1939 in Alanta, Texas and learned how to play guitar and harmonica by ear.
He formed Jam City Revue in 1996 in Marshall, Texas, and released the cd, Sleeping With The Dogs in 2013 after returning from Europe.
He enjoyed a month long tour of Europe in 2012, and six weeks long in 2013.
Saturday, September 14th, 2019 the Wortham Blues Festival opens the gates at 3:00 p.m. Admission is only $10 per adult, $5 per kid aged 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under.
The city will be set on fire from the sizzling hot music. So come on out and bring your lawn chairs, your sunscreen, your cooler (leave that glass container home though) and listen to great music.
