Still looking for things for your children to do this summer? The Warehouse Living Arts Center (WLAC), located at 119 W. 6th Avenue, Corsicana, TX, is known for its great youth theatre summer camps. This summer the WLAC is upping their offerings with their 2022 Summer of the Arts Youth Camps! Full details are available on their website www.theWLAC.com.

 

“We are excited to be offering Art, Theatre, Dance, and Music Camps all throughout the month of July!” says executive director John Kaiser III. “My personal experiences aside, studies have shown that involvement in theatre and the arts benefit children across a range of developmental areas. Theatre can improve social bonding, as well as develop their emotional and cognitive skills. It has also shown significantly higher scores in verbal and math SAT scores for students that have been involved over those who have not.”

 

While Art Camp is full already, there are still slots available in all the other camps.

 

THEATRE CAMP | July 11 through 15

Alyssa Bain, CHS’s theatre teacher will be returning as well to teach THEATRE Camp where students will engage with each other through fun theatre exercises, games, improv, scene work and more! Parents and family will be invited to a showcase at the end of the week.

GROUPS & TIME:

1st–5th Grades | 10am-12pm

6th–12th Grades | 12:30pm-2:30pm

 

DANCE CAMP | July 18 through 22

DANCE Camp with get the students up and moving and learning some basic steps along with choreography to musical theatre songs. Parents and family will be invited to a showcase at the end of the week.

1st–5th Grades | 10am-12pm

6th–12th Grades | 12:30pm-2:30pm

 

MUSIC CAMP | July 25 through 29

In MUSIC Camp students will work on their vocal skills, practice auditioning for musicals, learn vocal warmups and learn a few songs which they will perform for their parents and families on the last day.

GROUPS & TIME:

1st–5th Grades | 10am-12pm

6th–12th Grades | 12:30pm-2:30pm
