The weekly Lake Fairfield Tuesday Night Bass Tournament was held on August 8, 2018. A total of six bass were weighed in with Paul Cobb of Fairfield and J.D. Hancock of Teague each having a 4 pound 5 ounce fish hitting the scales. The two anglers split the $255 pot with each receiving $127.50 for their efforts. A total of 17 anglers competed in last week’s event.

Entry fee for the event is $15 per person with 100% of the entry fees being paid back to the winning fishermen. Payout on a field of 1-20 entries is 60% of the pot for first place and 40% for second. If 21 or more anglers participate, the pot is split 50% for first, 30% for second and 20% for third place.

The weekly tournament is conducted out of the front boat ramp at Lake Fairfield. Registration is taken from 5:30 pm-6:00 pm. Tournament hours are 6 pm until 9 pm. Fishermen catching a largemouth bass with a minimum length of 18 inches must be in the weigh-in line by 9:10 pm. Only one bass per angler can be weighed and all individuals in the boat must be paid contestants. Each participant must have a valid fishing license on their person.

“We’re having a great time each Tuesday night in these events,” Paul Cobb, director of the event stated. “We have men, women and kids of all ages fishing the tournaments. Everyone is welcome to participate.”
